To whom the bell tolls

Can you imagine a world where during a presidential debate we had a "this is a lie" detector who rang a bell evrytime one of the candidates told a lie?

If so, will the bells ever stop ringing?

On the CPU and I/O rates of politicians

One measure of the speed of of a computing device is the CPU rate and the Input/Output (I/O) rate. The CPU rate is usually orders of magnitude faster than the I/O rate.

Translating to humans, the CPU corresponds (roughly) to the brain and the I/O corresponds (roughly) to the ears/mouth.

Unfortunately, many politicians exhibit a behaviour that is inverse to a computing device; their I/O rate tends to be much faster than their CPU rate. If they could only place a filter on their I/O device they will spare us the common phrase we so often hear

"my quote was taken out of context"

A moratorium on political attacks!

Wouldn't be nice if the two presidential candidates declared a moratorium on political attacks and spend their entire airtime discussing what their agenda is?

I bet that what we will hear is the sound of silence.

What the popular media is NOT telling us?

Will Venezuela build a missile defense shield in South America?

Now that the United States and Poland agreed on building defense shield in Eastern Europe will Venezuela allow Russia to build one in South America.

Only time will tell.
